LBX Company, makers of Link-Belt excavators, will host the first annual LBX Dig Deep 5K run/walk this weekend on Saturday, July 13th. Proceeds will be divided between the National Hospice Foundation and our local Hospice of the Bluegrass benefitting the Daniel’s Care Pediatric Program. Daniel’s Care provides support and care for children with life threatening illnesses and their families as well as children experiencing grief.
The race is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m., running along the beautiful Legacy Trail at Coldstream Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Race-day registration and packet pickup will begin at 7 a.m. at the Embassy Suites on Newtown Pike. Race packets can be picked up early at West Sixth Brewing from 3-6 p.m. on Friday, July 12th in the Beer Garden.
Already attracting over 200 runners and walkers of all ages throughout Central Kentucky and numerous sponsors, the organizers are excited to be able to raise awareness and contribute to such a worthy cause. LBX Company has pledged to match 100% of all proceeds raised that day and will continue its ongoing community involvement.
Race director Stephanie Banks said, “I have been overwhelmed by the support of our local community. I am so glad to give back to a charity that has helped my own family and so many other families over the years. Organizing a race of this size is a lot of work but it is completely worth it. I promise it will be a great race with great weather and I am looking forward to race day!”
