Québec’s Louis-Jacques Côté Tackles the Global Service Skills Contest

Service Skills Competition in Chiba Japan

December 7, 2023 – Louis-Jacques Côté of Link-Belt Excavator dealer, Groupe Bossé in Québec City, Canada, attended the Global Service Skills Contest. The contest was held in Chiba, Japan, at the Sumitomo Training Center, on October 21, 2023. Côté was chosen to compete after his triumphant win at the Lexington, Kentucky service skills competition, where he excelled in Electrical, Hydraulic, and Engine troubleshooting.

At the Sumitomo Training Center, Côté competed against ten other skilled technicians from 11 countries, showcasing his expertise in engine parts replacement, hydraulic component overhaul, electrical circuit making, and repair and fix skills. Competitors from Australia, Canada, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Thailand, and Turkey participated in the competition.


Côté excelled in the competition, taking first place in the hydraulic component overhaul category, third place in the engine parts replacement category, and sixth place overall. His outstanding performance reflects the high level of training and expertise of Groupe Bossé’s service technicians.
